Dancing With The Stars: Maks And Karina Try On Wedding Rings

Dancing With The Starspros Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have finally settled on a wedding date. The couple will wed June 2010, and it’s not going to be the intimate affair they were hoping for. Keep reading for more details on the wedding, the rings, and their upcoming summer plans…

Maks told PEOPLE magazine, “If it was just friends and family that would be one thing, but there are so many people telling us, ‘We’ll be there, we want to come!’ So we said, Okay, the wedding is turning out to be a bigger production. We want to take our time. You don’t want to piss anybody off or hurt anybody.”

“Next June is when we want to have the wedding,” said Maks. “We are currently interviewing a few wedding planners because we figure we could use professional help.” Earlier this month, the pair were spotted trying on wedding bands at the Beverly Hills store David Yurman. “Karina gave me a necklace from there, and there were a couple diamonds missing.”He adds that they will most likely opt for traditional bands, but they aren’t rushing into choosing locations, clothes, or rings.

This summer, Maks will be starring in the athleticreality show The Superstars, which premieres on June 23. He also wants to do some travelling and brushing up on his golf game this summer. “It’s very therapeutic,” he adds. Maks will be taking some lessons from fellow dancer Tony Dovolani, saying that he “is a huge part of it. I’m getting good. I’m going to try and utilize the summer to get much better.”
