Dancing With The Stars: Julianne Hough Offered Part In Footloose

There have been rumors circulating for months that Dancing With The StarsproJulianne Hough might be considered for the lead in the on-screen remake of Footloose. As it turns out, Julianne has scored the part and will be playing opposite Gossip Girl’s Chase Crawford. Keep reading for full details…

“Julianne Hough has been offered the part in Footloose, and it is contingent on scheduling,” a Paramount Studio rep confirmed to Usmagazine.com last Friday.Crawford signed on a month ago to star after Zac Efron stepped down in an attempt to pursue non-musical roles.

According toa report at E! News, filmmakers are hoping she will be able to improve her acting skills before they start shooting. The moviewill be Hough’s first major film project and it wasn’t a surprise that Director Kenny Ortega chose her. “I love her,” he told E! “I adore her. I’m a big fan of hers. Not only how beautiful but how deep her talent goes.”
