American Idol: Jennifer Hudson Is A Mom

After keeping her pregnancy under wraps for almost the entirenine months,Jennifer Hudson finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The former American Idolfinalist and fiance David Otungahad kept the sex of their baby a surprise and were filled with excitement after seeing their little one for the first time. According to a reporton PEOPLE.com, the couple’s son weighed 7 lbs. and 14 oz. and has been named David Daniel Otunga Jr. after Jennifer’s fiance.”The baby is beautiful and perfect,” says Hudson’s rep Lisa Kasteler. “His parents are ecstatic.”

“Congratulations!” Hudson’s Dreamgirls costar Jamie Foxx tells ET Canada. “I wonder if he came out singing? Probably.”

The baby is no doubt a joyful addition to the singer’slife after a very tragic year in which she lost her mother, brother, and nephew. Congratulations Jennifer and good luck on your new journey as a mom!
