American Idol: Kris Allen’s Album Drops November 17

Kris Allen is getting used to life after the American Idol Tour and preparing for the November release of his debut album.  He recently spoke to Elvis Duran on New York’s Z100 morning show about his first single, Paula Abdul, and how surreal his life is at this moment.

Kris stopped by the radio station to talk about his first single, “Live Like We’re Dying.”  While there, he mentioned that this whole experience is a dream that he almost let go of. “I was playing in bars, playing three hour shows, singing every song under the sun, taking requests from people. I was actually trying to go back to school [before Idol]. This was one of the last ditch efforts. I’m just glad it worked out!”

He also mentioned that he was glad to have Paula Abdul around during his time on Idol. “I’m glad I was able to be a part of her last season. She was great. She cared for all of us. We got to know her the most, probably. She’s just a sweetheart,” Kris said.
