So You Think You Can Dance: Top 12 Perform

Finally, we are almost down to the top 10 dancers on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX, and many folks were disheartened to watch Channing Cooke and Kevin Hunte get sent home last week, so I hope this has taught you all that you need to vote, vote, vote to keep your favorites in the competition for another week! Tonight, our top 12 perform for you and fight for your votes. Find out how well your favorite couple did, and whether or not they belong in our top 10.

By this time tomorrow, we will know who our official top 10 performers are on So You Think You Can Dance on FOX and I cannot reiterate enough how important your votes are to keep your favorite couple alive at this point. Each couple performed 2 routines tonight, so I am listing each couple individually and you can be the judge of whom you should vote for this week. This will also be the last week that the couples dance together as next week they not only pick their routines, they pick their partners also.

Ryan and Ellenore opened the show tonight with their first performance of the evening being the lindy hop - a dance that this show has not seen in years. They performed perfectly despite Ryan dealing with a hurt back. For their second performance they did a broadway routine about fame which they yet again, performed perfectly. While Ryan is normally the stronger performer of the two, Ellenore was the star of this performance.

Kathryn and Legacy rocked the house another week with a sultry jazz routine. Both Mary & Nigel agreed that they secured a spot in the top 10 already. However, when they came back for their second performance, a waltz which was not as good as their first, despite how amazing they looked in their costumes. Nigel stated he was unsure that they would not end up in the bottom three.

Victor and Karen our new pair on So You Think You Can Dance this week performed a tango. I must admit I was not looking forward this pairing simply because I loved Karen with Kevin, however they amazed me with instant chemistry and an awesome performance. For their next performance, they did a hip hop routine which was no where near as good as their first. It lacked the chemistry we saw in the first routine and was not a strong performance at all. We may see them again in the bottom tomorrow.

Mollee and Nathan started their evening with a hip hop routine about Alexander Bell and the telephone. It was cute and good, but not as strong as some of the other performances tonight. Personally it was a little too childish for my liking, and the judges even stated they can’t wait to see these two paired with different partners. For their next performance, they did a new dance for Here is what our couples on So You Think You Can Dance , the can can choreographed by Tice which was by far much better than the first performance. Again though, for me it was too cute although fun. Will it be enough to keep them in, I am not sure.

Russell and Noelle came out full of confidence and looking gorgeous for their first performance, a samba. They did very well, but they did not get sultry enough for this dance even though it was very enjoyable to watch. Russell is truly amazing to watch, this krumper has such an easy time adjusting to new styles. Their second performance was a contemporary number that portrayed their relationship as partners on So You Think You Can Dance which was absolutely stunning. I don’t see them making the bottom this week.

Ashleigh and Jakob blew us away as usual with a lyrical jazz number for their first performance. It was stunning, beautiful and just utterly amazing, to the point of leaving Mary in tears. For their second performance, they came out to a cha cha and if they didn’t nail their spot in the top 10 with their first routine, they certainly did this one. They were by far the best couple of the evening and just like the judges said, I have to agree that this is one partnership I am going to miss the most. These two have grown so much because of each other.

Now, the judges didn’t even take guesses last night as to whom would be in the bottom three tonight like they normally do. It’s going to be a tough decision for America. I have my predictions though, I think the three couples who performed well enough to keep them in the top three are Ashleigh and Jakob, Ellenore and Ryan and Russell and Noelle. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see if I am correct or not!
