The Bachelor: Byron Velvick And Mary Delgado Are Splitsville

To be honest with you, that lasted a lot longer than we thought. I mean, they got off to a good start but it didn’t take long for that hot mess to slowly unravel. After proposing to Mary on The Bachelor, Byron and his bride-to-be moved in together. A few years later, in 2007, Mary was arrested for assaulting Byron. Keep reading for more details on the split…

After Mary’s arrest, Byron defended the couple’s relationship by saying, “Just because you met on a reality show, got engaged on this beautiful incredible setting doesn’t mean that we’re Prince Charming or Beautiful Princess. It’s nothing like that. It’s just a real couple going through real things.”

Last year, Mary was arrested again in Texas for being publicly intoxicated, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Finally, after suffering through a rocky relationship for over five years, the couple has called it quits. Yesterday, Byron confirmed this news to Usmagazine.com.

The new season of The Bachelor will premiere in early 2010 on ABC.
