American Idol: Kara DioGuardi’s Dad Runs For Senate

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi’s father is soon going to be waiting for America’s vote! The reality star’s dad recently announced his bid to run for the U.S. Senate. Keep reading for more details on the former Congressman’s bid and what Kara DioGuardi has to say about their differing politics…

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi knows how life-altering a vote can be. She watches the dreams of young Idol hopefuls be dashed week after week on the FOX singing competition. Growing up the daughter of a politician certainly taught her plenty about the importance of gaining votes. Her dad is going to need some American support in his new run for U.S. Senate.

Kara DioGuardi’s father, former Republican congressman Joseph DioGuardi, recently announced his bid for the New York seat held by Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. His primary focus: financial responsibility. ”As a New York senator, I would stand up for the common-sense economic and fiscal policies that would bring jobs to New York and put America back on the right track,” he said.

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi admits she may differ from her dad on some political issues, but she certainly supports and respects the man. ”He always encouraged me in my dreams,” the American Idol judge told the New York Post. ”We don’t always agree on every issue. But no matter what our differences are, I love him. He has more energy than anyone I know. When he is working, he is Superman.”

It certainly doesn’t hurt having a famous daughter. Joseph DioGuardi told Fox News that his daughter has played “a very nice role in my campaign.”
