If it isn’t Britney, it’s Lindsay. If not Lindsay, then Paris or Nicole. These days you can’t seem to turn on the TV or pick up the paper without hearing about another celebrity struggling, especially when it comes to drugs and alcohol.
Answering the call of the struggling celebrity phenomenon, VH1 has created a show to help those in need…while at the same time feedingthe need of reality TV fans to be there for all the gritty details.
Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew is a first of its kind: a reality show meant to chronicle the drug and alcohol rehabilitation of several well-knowns who have a real desire to rid themselves of the monkeys on their backs. Dr. Drew Pinsky (you may know him from radio and tv’s “Loveline”) will be the doc supervising the celebrities during their inpatient stay at the Pasadena Recovery Center in California.
We’ll get to watch the drama unfold (and unfold it will, as in the first episode Jeff Conaway falls off the wagon, lapses into a seizure, and has to be rushed to the hospital) as theeight participating celebs tackle their demons and commit to a new, drug- and alcohol-free life.
The eight celebrities checking in are:
*Child star, Jaimee Foxworth of singing group “Heaven Sent,” and tv’s “Family Matters.”
*Crazytown’s lead singer, Seth “Shifty” Binzer.
*UFC Heavyweight Champ, Ricco “Suave” Rodriguez.
*Another Baldwin Brother on reality TV?! Yep, this time it’s Daniel.
*Model Brigitte Nielson.
*Joan Marie Laurer — or you may know her better as buff WWF wrestler, Chyna.
*Porn star (and aspiring politician?) Mary Carey.
*Jeff Conaway…yes, that’s hot “Greaser,” Kenicke. What would Sandra Dee have to say about this?!
*American Idol season 4 top ten finalist, Jessica Sierra (Read Reality TV Magazine’s coverage of Jessica’s latest mishaps here).
Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew will premiere Thursday, Jan. 10, 10PM ET on VH1.

She may have the pipes to impress the judges on American Idol, but season 4 top ten finalist, Jessica Sierra, wasn’t able to sing her way out of this one.
According to E! News, Tuesday, Sierra was sentenced by Tampa Circuit judge Daniel Perry to a year-long in-house stay at a California rehab center, followed by three years’ probation. This, as a result of her Dec. 1st arrest for misdemeanor intoxication, and resisting an officer without violence.
Sierra has been detained since the arrest, due to the fact that it violated probation on felony charges last April for throwing a glass at a bar patron and for possession of cocaine. She will remain in jail until her transfer to California.
Sierra’s treatment will take place at the Pasadena Recovery Center, the same rehab where she took part in VH1’s reality show, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. This time around, Sierra’s recovery (paid in full by the Center, by the way), will include psychiatric care, medical care, and 24-hour supervision. Dr. Drew will be a participant in her recovery.
Let’s just hope it takes this time, as the pregnant “fallen Idol” is out of chances. If caught violating probation again, she could be singing the jailhouse blues for good.
Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew airs Thursday, Jan. 10th, 10PM ET, on VH1.
American Idol premieres Jan. 15 on FOX.
