VH1 Goes Inside: America’s Most Wanted uncovers the backstory of one of the most groundbreaking and longest running shows in television history. In its eighteenth season, America’s Most Wanted continues to not only entertain audiences but also to shape the landscape of American law enforcement.
“America’s Most Wanted” is using a new tool to help authorities find a killer who shot a New York corrections officer: a “wanted” billboard. The “wanted” billboard was installed at 8 a.m. (Eastern) on March 17 along heavily traveled Northern Boulevard in the Flushing area of Queens (Northern Boulevard east of Collins Place).
This Saturday, John Walsh and AMERICA’S MOST WANTED look at three fallen stars from across the country. “Mancow,” a nationally syndicated shock jock, was left speechless when his loveable sidekick, Ray Hoffstatter, was the victim of a hit-and-run. AMW is asking viewers for help in finding the driver of the car that struck Hoffstatter. Also profiled on Saturday’s show are Karl Goeke, a comedian accused of sexually molesting a neighbor, and Victor Willis, a member of The Village People who jumped bail after being arrested on multiple charges. AMERICA’S MOST WANTED airs Saturday, Feb. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Penelope Jones, a burgeoning Motown Records hip-hop star, will appear on FOX’s long-running crime-fighting show, AMERICA’S MOST WANTED, in hopes of solving the murder of her brother, Tony Jones. Tony was fatally shot in October 2003 in front of his 6-year-old son in their Illinois apartment. Penelope, a St. Louis native, says: “Not only is he my brother, but I’m part of that community. I hope that my presence will help generate leads and make people who may know something about my brother’s murder come forward.” AMW asks viewers for their help in finding Tony Jones’ killer Saturday, Feb. 18 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
After AMERICA’S MOST WANTED aired an in-depth story about the murdered pizza delivery man in Erie, PA, who had a bomb strapped to his neck and then robbed a bank, new information was brought forth – only to AMERICA’S MOST WANTED. Now AMW reveals this exclusive new information, which could help authorities solve the case and unmask the mastermind of a horrendous crime.
On the season premiere, John Walsh and AMERICA’S MOST WANTED travel to the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina in hopes of bringing families back together. Don’t miss this compelling episode as AMW helps families reunite with their loved ones whose lives and homes have been ravaged by the devastating hurricane on AMERICA’S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK Saturday, Sept. 10 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
John Walsh and “America’s Most Wanted” will try a new method in New Jersey to find a fugitive accused of killing the son of a Paterson police officer. On Friday, July 15th police will unveil a 14-by-48 foot “wanted” billboard along Route 21 near Dayton Avenue, on the approach to Paterson from Passaic.
AMERICA’S MOST WANTED, the long-running crime-fighting show on FOX, is using donated billboard space in Detroit to help catch hard-to-find fugitives, host John Walsh announced recently at a national convention of the outdoor advertising industry in Chicago. "Billboards work. Billboards are one more way to empower the public to help police apprehend accused criminals – some of whom are killers and sexual predators," said Walsh.
AMERICA’S MOST WANTED asked the public to identify All Stars — first responders who exemplify our nation’s best law-enforcement officer, firefighter or EMT personnel. From over 800 submissions, AMW had the tough task of choosing only eight finalists.
