Miss America: Reality Check is a four-part reality special that will be airing on TLC. The show is hosted by Michael Urie of ABC’s Ugly Betty. Miss America: Reality Check will bring together 52 beauty queens to live under one roof.
Host Urie will lead the beauty queens in a set of events and challenges. The finale event will be a competition that redefines what it takes to be Miss America. Along the way, tastemakers will help the beauty queens learn the latest trends and newest hairstyles. The beauty queens will also learn how to be role models in today’s modern world.
An advisory board consisting of celebrity stylist Jeanie Mae, Us Weekly editor Dina Sansing, and celebrity photographer Mark Liddell will provide critique to the beauty queens. Special guest Miss America Lauren Nelson, Stacy London and Clinton Kelly from TLC’s What Not to Wear, make-up artist Napoleon Perdis, celebrity hairstylist Kim Vo, choreographer Fred Tallaksen, and fashion expert Randolph Duke will provide expertise and guidance to the beauty queens.
“The Miss America of today is more than a pretty face,” says Brant Pinvidic, senior vice president of programming for TLC. “These are remarkable women who have made great contributions to their communities. We want to give America the chance to get to know these women and follow their journey as they strive to obtain the Miss America title on January 26 in Las Vegas.”
