In the early stages of the Rock Star: INXS competition, J.D. Fortune appeared to be there just to keep things interesting. He was the bad boy of the competition, who didn’t seem to have any real chance at winning. Over the weeks, J.D. has had his up and downs, but he has started to grow on many viewers. How did J.D. go from an arrogant troublemaker to a hip rebel?

Yesterday, the management team of Rock Star Go Home announced that the free, online game for Rock Star: INXS fans will surpass 3,000 player registrations by the time the finale airs next week.
The rock singers discuss the elimination of Jordis Unga from the competition. J.D. Fortune says that he was happy to get so much time in front of INXS since he got to do the encore and perform an INXS song as part of the bottom three. Suzie McNeil breaks down in tears because she feels so honored to be the last female left standing. J.D.’s mother and sister show up and surprise him.
Brooke Burke asks the rock singers who they think the viewers selected for the encore. Both J.D. Fortune and Marty Casey raise their hands, and Brooke reveals that it did come down to those two, but J.D. won out in the end. Dave Navarro interrupts to say that there will be two encores. The first encore is all the rock singers, INXS, and even Dave singing the new INXS song “Us.” The second encore is J.D. Fortune singing his original song “Pretty Vegas.”
In an unusual night on Rock Star INXS, Brooke Burke shows up in her pajamas and one of the early frontrunners seems to be purposefully throwing the competition. In the early stages of the competition, Jordis Unga appeared to be head and shoulders above the other rock singers. However, recent performances have not shown the same drive and energy as her earlier performances. Jordis almost acts like her heart isn’t in the competition.
The rock singers finally cut lose in the mansion. J.D. Fortune is surprised with a cake for his birthday. Instead of eating the cake, J.D. starts a massive food fight. All the rock singers get covered in cake, which leads to a group shower. Finally, after weeks of being cooped up in the house together, the rock singers are starting to behave like actual rock stars.
Tim Farris starts the night by acknowledging the disaster caused by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Tim lets everyone know that INXS has made a donation to the Red Cross, and Brooke Burke encourages viewers to do the same. Brooke asks everyone who thinks they deserve the encore to raise their hands. Suzie McNeil, Ty Taylor, and Jordis Unga raise their hands. Ironically two of the three that raise their hands wind up in the bottom three.
It is starting to look like the bell might be tolling for J.D. Fortune. First, J.D. doesn’t put in the time to learn the lyrics to INXS’ new song, and then he gives one of the most boring performances during the competition. While J.D.’s performance of “Suspicious Minds” isn’t bad, it is overshadowed by other stand out performances.
This week’s VH1 episode of Rock Star: INXS picks up after the rock singers return to the mansion after last week’s elimination. Jordis Unga is shocked that she wasn’t in the bottom three, while Suzie McNeil celebrates going from Queen of the Bottom Three to the Queen of the Top One.
