NBC’s "Three Wishes" will make the holidays a little more magical for 13 children whose wishes will be granted in a special Yuletide episode airing Friday, December 2 (9-10 p.m. ET). The "Three Wishes" team will travel all over the country, playing Santa to kids wishing for everything from a snow in sunny Los Angeles to a chance to visit "Sesame Street" in person.
NBC has renewed its feel-good unscripted series "Three Wishes" (Fridays, 9-10 p.m. ET) for six more episodes, bringing the total number of episodes ordered so far to sixteen. The announcement was made today by Kevin Reilly, President, NBC Entertainment.
NBC will air a special military episode of "Three Wishes" on Wednesday, October 26 (8-9 p.m. ET) giving away homes — and more — to Marines returning home from Iraq. The Marines honored are from the 3rd Battalion, 25th Regiment stationed in Brook Park, OH, a division that has suffered some of the most staggering losses in the ongoing war in Iraq.
The "Three Wishes" team travels to Covington, Georgia, where they meet a woman who hopes to unravel a long-held family secret and meet her birth mother for the very first time. They also help a group of spirited seniors recapture their youth, and meet a college student hoping to get treatment for his chronic stutter to prepare for an important speech he has to give in his bid for class president.
NBC will air a special two-hour episode of "Three Wishes" on Friday, October 7 (8-10 p.m. ET), with stories involving a Hurricane Katrina family evacuated from their home in New Orleans, a terminally-ill father with a dream for his family and a 13-year-old girl who aspires to be a professional singer. The episode was filmed in September in Brookings, South Dakota. To promote its new fall series "Three Wishes," NBC will be granting three wishes in 15 markets the week of September 12 — including a "big wish" at a local charity in each city, where they’ll present a check for $2,500 to purchase an item (or items) on the charity’s own wish list. As part of the grassroots marketing campaign, they will also grant two smaller wishes at local retailers by picking up the tabs for several lucky customers.
