It’s been a big week for Ellen. First she bests TV daytime talk show megastar, Oprah Winfrey, in the annual Harris poll. Now the host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show gets to don a slinky dress and banter with Howie on Deal or No Deal.
Tonight, DeGeneres will surprise Deal contestant Shequila Farrelly, of Redstone Abenal, Alabama by being the first ever celebrity briefcase model (slinky green dress and all).
Deal or No Deal is hot in the middle of its Million Dollar Mission, a twist to the game created to guarantee that a contestant will (finally!) go home with the big $1 million prize. Each night that the mil isn’t taken home, Deal puts another $1 million briefcase in the kitty — and will keep doing it until someone wins. Tonight, Farrelly will play with 7 $1 million briefcases in play.
Deal or No Deal airs Mondays at 9:00 PM (ET) and Wednesdays at 8:00 PM (ET) on NBC.

Are the odds of picking that million-dollar briefcase on NBC’s Deal or No Deal just way too low for your non-gambling self?
NBCplans to change that. They’re bringing back their Million Dollar Mission with a hope that someone will take home that million dollars.
This is the way it normally works. Contestants on Deal or No Deal are faced with 26 briefcases, each containing a monetary amount, ranging anywhere from 1 measly penny to 1 million smackers! Round by nail-biting round, contestants choose a briefcase to open, revealing the dollar amount inside. As if that’s not stressful enough, a mysterious silhouetted “banker” calls in between each briefcase, offering the buy the contestant out if he or she will just leave the game (this is where host Howie Mandel steps in an asks, “Deal or No Deal?” and much screaming on the part of the audience and sweating on the part of the contestant ensues). In this traditionally-played Deal or No Deal game, there is only but one briefcase containing the million dollar prize every contestant wants to take home.
But with the Million Dollar Mission, one isn’t good enough.
For every contestant that goes home without a million dollars, Deal or No Deal will add an additionalmillion-dollar briefcase to the kitty for the next contestant.
Port Authority Police Officer (and 9/11 hero), Will Jimeno, of Chester, New Jersey, will be the lucky contestant to begin Deal or No Deal’s Million Dollar Mission, with two $1-million briefcases up for grabs.
