HGTV Design Star ends tonight with one of the most ambitions make-over’s to date as Antonio and Dan each tackle a complete home makeover to decide the winner of this season’s HGTV Design Star. Admittedly, I am a huge Antonio fan as I think he has the chops to handle a show on HGTV week after week. He is so totally different than the talent currently on HGTV, which is why he is a natural to get his own show. It all comes down to who does the best at the task in the finale and if the judges deem Antonio’s totally different style a fit on HGTV.
HGTV Design Star gets us down to the final two after tonights, “Your show has been cancelled†utterance by Clive Pearce and if we don’t see an Antonio/Lonni showdown, I will be surprised. I mean come on, is there a better overall finalist than Antonio ever in HGTV Design Star history? After Dan’s shaky performance last week, he will have to do something awesome to make it all better with the judges, so it will be a race to the finish to see who competes against Antonio in the finale, at least in my perfect little world.
HGTV Design Star gives us the final four with a backyard makeover in what looks to be the first for Design Star. While Design Star looks for an Interior Designer, it seems a tad bit unfair to put a time-limit in a backyard design as that is usually a much more time-intensive process than a room. But the challenge goes on and by the end of the night; we will have one less designer to think about.
HGTV Design Star is down to the final five designers and not only will the designers be working with tough customers, Kids, but their hosting styles will be on display as the judges begin the decision process as to who will be their next co-worker onHGTV. Each designer will start playing to the judges with their own style, and, at this point, you have got to love Antonio as one of the most passionate designers in the competition.

HGTV Design Star is fast getting us to the place where we have a finale. Heck, last week we lost two of the designers, well, one was a designer, the other one probably didn’t deserve to be there at all. With that all being said, it was time for the latest in reality competition trends where a challenge is done for a military, police or firefighter’s family, which are always cool challenges to watch.
HGTV Design Star blows into week four with a rumored double-elimination as redesign of two garages was on the agenda in tonight’s episode. With a tight budget of $10,000 and a mere 20 hours to complete the task, we will probably look forward to some unfinished elements of the design which will probably send one or more of the designers home and leave the judges frowning in disgust. Of course, the usual drama inevitably will accompany the project and it should prove interesting to see who is grace under pressure.
Michael Verdugo, the California cop who has become well known for his appearance on the reality TV show Design Star, has been suspended from duty after it was alleged he starred in a porn film five years before he joined the force. He has been put on administrative leave with pay by the Hollywood Police Department after reports he starred in a porn film called Rope Rituals in 1996.
On the season finale of HGTV Design Star 3, host Clive Pearse announced that Jennifer Bertrand was the winner of the viewer vote. As the winner, Jennifer received a contract for her very own show on HGTV, which will premiere in January, 2009.
Last week on HGTV Design Star 3, the final two of Jennifer Bertrand and Matt Locke faced off in their final challenge. Jennifer is a thirty-two year old artist and designer from Olathe, Kansas, while Matt is a thirty-eight year old interiors, furniture and lighting designer from Los Angeles, California.
