I Can Make You Thin is a new reality TV series that will air on TLC. The star of the show is UK weight-loss guru Paul McKenna. McKenna travels to America to teach his anti-diet approach. McKenna will deliver a series of mental exercises to the viewing audience.
McKenna will showcase his “4 Golden Rules,” which consist of simple, accessible techniques that focus on controlling the mind’s relationship with food. McKenna explains, “This is not a diet – it’s about changing your life using simple psychological techniques which transform people’s relationship with food forever. I am thrilled to bring this successful program to America for the first time.”
In England, Paul McKenna’s program and a companion book have both been a huge success. I Can Make You Thin is a five part series. Every week on the show, Paul McKenna will cover a major theme such as emotional eating, addictions and cravings, motivation to exercise and metabolism, and self esteem and self-image.
I Can Make You Thin will have a live audience and will show field pieces. Viewers will get to hear scientific research and at-home strategies for losing weight. As with any weight-loss strategy, individual results may vary.
“Paul is a pioneer in the field of weight-loss, challenging and exercising the mind’s relationship with food,” said Brant Pinvidic, SVP Programming of TLC. “Finally, American viewers will learn why the TV might be the most important weight-loss tool ever.”
I Can Make You Thin premieres on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 9 PM on TLC.
