Last Comic Standing to Feature Comic in the Car…

May 21, 2008 05:43:05 by Jennifer_Brown

Last-Comic-Standing-LogoIt’s a way to get a belly laugh going and win a new car, all in one! This season’s Last Comic Standing is including a new feature, something they’re calling Last Comic Driving.

Each week for 10 weeks, comics who did not make the final cut on the show will give their funniest routines while sitting in the passenger seat of a new Honda Pilot–the car which will ultimately be won by the grand prize winner of the series.

Viewers can watch the “Comic in the Car,” and then go online to vote for their favorite. Each vote will get you an entry in a sweepstakes to win your own brand new Honda Pilot! The winner of Last Comic Driving will appear in the season finale of Last Comic Standing (August 7th) and will win a cash prize provided by Honda.

Last Comic Standing is set to premiere on Thursday, May 22nd at 9:30 PM (ET). The first episode will follow Law and Order’s Richard Belzer and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’s Steve Schirripa as they hold auditions in New York City. Also, Mad About You’s Fred Willard and Veronica’s Closet’s Kathy Najimy will be holding auditions in Tempe, Arizona.

Viewer votes will decide who will win Last Comic Standing. The winner will receive $250,000, a talent deal with NBC, a new Honda Pilot, and a starring appearance in Jubilee! at Bally’s Las Vegas.

Comedy Pros to Judge Last Comic Standing Auditions

February 7, 2008 10:29:45 by Jennifer_Brown

Leslie-David-Baker-Courtesy-NBCNBC’s Last Comic Standing is hitting the road again, this time to cast for season 6. But in an effort to cash in on the star-studded mania of reality TV these days, the judges for the various live auditions will have serious comedic notches in their belts.

Standing hopefuls can expect to be judged by Richard Belzer from SVU and Steve Schirripa today at the Gotham Comedy Club in New York. Next week’s judging at Toronto’s Yuk Yuk’s will be handed down by NewsRadio’s Dave Foley and Mad About You’s Richard Kind. Not to be outdone, Minneapolis is bringing out stars of The Office (Brian Baumgartner and Kate Flannery). Houston will boast celebrity judges Neil Flynn from Scrubs and Alfonso Ribeiro of Fresh Prince fame. Auditioners can expect to answer to more of The Office staff — this time Leslie David Baker in Tempe, Arizona, while Chuck’s Josh Gomez and the hilarious French Stewart (Third Rock) will hand down critiques in San Francisco. And not to make any of you comedy wannabes nervous, but the grand finale will have auditioners performing in front of comedy master veterans George Wendt and John Ratzenberger of Cheers fame in good old Nashville.
