For seven weeks we’ve gotten to take a rare look at some of the heartbreak and hi-jinx that take place inside of New York City’s most prestigious hospital centers. Tonight on the season finale of ABC‘s groundbreaking series, NY Med, the talented doctors and nurses treat us to a few more great success stories that’ll have you reaching for your tissues one last time…until next season, that is.
Tonight, in Part I of the two-night season finale of ABC‘s NY Med, Dr. Mehmet Oz returns to perform an aortic valve replacement on an 87-year-old patient whose husband is terrified at the mere thought of losing her. Plus, a young couple braces for the birth of their second child; a baby whose heart will have to be reconstructed as soon as it’s born.
This week on ABC‘s NY Med, love is in the air as Nurse Marina Dedivanovic deals with some boy troubles, and a young cystic fibrosis patient, Lyndsey McLaughlin, battles the life-threatening disease with the support of her family and friends. What did you miss?
This week on ABC‘s NY Med… Ever doubt the importance of a mammogram? Talk to Andree Brown. After a yearly check-up, the 40-something single mom finds out that she needs a mastectomy. But why is she trying to hide her cancer diagnosis from her employer, and what’s her prognosis after the surgery?
If you haven’t learned by now that you need to keep an ample supply of tissues handy while watching ABC‘s NY Med, you’ll definitely remember after tonight’s episode, when the world’s greatest pediatric heart surgeon, Dr. Jan Quaegebeur, attempts to remove a tumor the size of a golf ball that’s lodged in the heart of a 4-year-old girl. Yeah…pretty amazing.
Three gunshot wounds, a taxi-cab accident, bar fights…. Yup, it’s just another Friday night in Brooklyn, and it was all caught on tape for ABC‘s latest reality hit, NY Med. Plus, Dr. Oz returns as both a doctor and a patient. What else did you miss in tonight’s all new episode?
Forget grocery stores and churches! Apparently, hospitals are a great place to meet eligible singles, too. Or maybe not. On the season premiere of ABC‘s latest reality hit, NY Med, ER nurse Marina Dedivanovic was asked out by a lovesick patient she treated at one of New York-Presbyterian’s renowned facilities (okay, maybe it was food poisoning, but you get the idea). In the episode, we see Nurse Dedivanovic give the patient her digits, but what happened after that?
Okay, after some careful consideration (and a lot of tissues), we’ve decided that ABC should issue a warning before each episode of their newest reality hit, NY Med. There’s absolutely no way you can get through one of these episodes without shedding at least one tear, and if you can, well, maybe it’s time you seek some medical attention. And we know a few good doctors who could probably help you out, too! What had us reaching for the Kleenex this week?
From people trying to avoid jail by heading to the ER with random aches and pains and threatening to hurt themselves, to those erections lasting more than 4 hours that they warn you about in the commercials (they really do exist!), there’s no shortage of drama at NY Med‘s Columbia and Weill Cornell Medical Centers in New York City. And yes, some of the patients are even there to see the wonderful wizard — Dr. Mehmet Oz! But is the show as “brilliant” and “incredible” as ABC‘s been touting, or is it just a bunch of hype? The Glass House, anyone?
