Scare Tactics is returning to the SCI FI Channel with a brand new host. In the first season, Beverly Hills 90120 veteran Shannen Doherty hosted the show. In the second season, reality TV veteran Stephen Baldwin hosted the show. Now, comedian Tracy Morgan of 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live fame is taking over the hosting duties for the show’s third season.
Scare Tactics is a hidden camera reality TV show, where unsuspecting victims are set up by friends and loved ones. The scary pranks usually involved elaborate special effects, makeup, and stunts. VH1 named a segment involving a “mutant rat boy” in one classic episode of Scare Tactics as the greatest prank of all time. The segment involved a lab assistant being terrorized by a genetically altered mutant.
The third season of Scare Tactics will premiere with two back-to-back brand new episodes on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 10 PM ET/PT on the SCI FI Channel.

Boo! Get ready for a scare, reality TV fans, because Sci-Fi has announced its new reality lineup and it’s scary!
30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan has signed on to host the third season of Sci-Fi’s fan favorite, Scare Tactics. In this hidden camera show, unsuspecting people are set up by their loved ones to be the victims of an elaborate and frightening hoax, amidst the backdrop of Hollywood-style special effects.
Mind Control with Derren Brown will be coming back for season two, kicking off with an event that “must be seen to be believed.” Brown, who has been wowing British audiences, uses a combination of suggestion and psychology to predict and control human behavior in such a way as to make him look paranormal.
Additionally, Sci-Fi will be airing two pilots this season.
Brain Trust puts togethera band of geniuses known as “The Trust.” The Trust are enlisted by everyday people who then call on them to find creative solutions to problems. Their solutions are then put to the test toseehow they worked.
And, finally, a pilot of Estate of Panic will air. In this show, millions of dollars are hidden in a vast estate and seven strangers are enlisted to find the money. With Fear Factor producers at the helm, however, there are plenty of horrors awaiting the contestants at every turn, challenging them to see how badly they want that dough.

Scare Tactics, the most innovative hidden camera show on TV, where friends set up friends, will return to the SCI FI Channel on Thursday August 10 and August 17 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT with two special episodes. Scare Tactics premiered on the SCI FI Channel in April 2003 and, during its three season run, Scare Tactics’ producers and the SCI FI website received close to 50,000 requests from people wanting to set up their friends and family.
