Kids say the darnedest things — and dream up even crazier creatures. The six remaining Face Off contestants were each paired up with a creative youngster who used their imagination to concoct a whimsical imaginary friend. As you might imagine, these kids’ concepts were big and complicated with each child piling idea upon idea. This was definitely a tough challenge — and it ended with a surprise elimination that had me scratching my head. See how it all played out with a full breakdown inside…
“This challenge might actually be the most daunting in Face Off history,” host McKenzie Westmore warned the seven remaining contestants when explaining the twist to this week’s makeup battle. Not only were they creating their own superheroes this week. Oh, no. That would be too simple. Instead of using models for the makeup, each of them had to transform themselves into a superhero. Cool concept? Definitely! Most daunting ever? Well, a similar challenge was actually done years ago during the show’s first season… Want to see how it played out? We have a full breakdown of each makeup with details about who was eliminated inside this article.
Face Off was all about beauty as the contestants faced a pair of colorful challenges. The first put them on the beach, the second put them into different galaxies. The episode was more fun than I expected it would be. See a breakdown of what happened and find out who was eliminated inside this article.
“This is the most disturbing thing I’ve seen in ages.” What on earth had judge Ve Neill gushing that praise? It came from one contestant’s creepy horror villain created for the latest Spotlight Challenge on Face Off. But these weren’t just any new horror villains. Oh, no. These were vile villains with style. Check out photos of each finished freaky makeup and find out who was slashed from the competition inside this article.
Face Off let it all hang out tonight with lots of bare butts and side boob. Yes, the nude body painting challenge was back. Since this show airs at 9 p.m. on SyFy, the censors ease up a bit only blurring the main private parts leaving very little to the imagination. If nudity bothers you, hopefully you put the kids to bed early tonight and didn’t let them stay awake to watch because there was lots of flesh for them to feast their eyes on. If you’re at work, you may not want to click into this story as some of the naked images are probably not suitable for your office. Warning! Bare butts and boobs ahead…
Have I mentioned that I don’t particularly care for the coach concept this season of Face Off? Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’ve whined about the twist for every recap I’ve written about it — and the latest episode solidified my thoughts. This time around, one of the coaches gave “advice” that I didn’t think was actually fair to some of the contestants. This episode did, however, deliver one of the coolest challenge concepts the show has ever seen! Find out who was sent packing and take a closer look at all 11 finished makeups inside!
Claws and ears? Both were the basis for two new challenges on Face Off. The latter definitely proved to be a stressful concept for the 12 remaining contestants who were tasked with creating a makeup motivated by a unique sound. Cool, right? The makeups were even cooler! See who was most successful and find out who the judges sent packing. Plus, find out why one of the returning champions was replaced in this episode. All that and more inside this article!
After several weeks of confusing situations regarding which contestant worked on what portion of a specific makeup, Face Off finally forced the aspiring makeup artists to create their own creatures alone. Thank goodness! I was really getting frustrated with how the judging process was going down at the Face Off reveal stage because nothing was easy to follow regarding each person’s efforts. Instead it was very disjointed and distracting — especially by adding extra focus on a guest judge like “Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson. What made this hour even better? This challenge brought a twist on Tim Burton into the mix. Always cool! Find out who went home and take a look at pictures of each completed makeup inside this article!
Did you hear the screaming? It was the piercing shrills of women across the country feasting their eyes on Face Off season 8′s third episode as “Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson joined the judges’ panel. Wait. Did you hear that? It was me unleashing my loudest “ugh.” I have nothing against the kid, I swear. I just don’t think he’s qualified to judge a special makeup effects contest. He ACTS in makeup. He isn’t an expert in actually CREATING the makeup. It’s the same concept as having Arnold Schwarzenegger judge a ballet contest. Well, that may be a bit far, but you get my point, right? Seriously, we went from the astounding, award-winning star Rick Baker, who has created some of the best makeup ever seen on film (hello, “Werewolf in London” transformation scene) to a Teen Choice Awards-winning, “Teen Bop” coverguy? Ummm… Yeah. With that said, the episode was the best of the season to date with some truly stellar makeups. Jump inside to see pictures of each complete makeup and to find out who was eliminated.
Right where we left off last week, the second episode of Face Off‘s eighth season was a continuation of the “cliffhanger” premiere as the 15 contestants faced a surprise twist. In addition to creating two aliens that crash landed their spacecraft, they were given the task of making a third character: A primate ruler unhappy the aliens have arrived. This challenge finally gave us a great first glimpse at the talent on hand this season and delivered the first elimination. See who was sent packing inside!
