After four weeks, it has been a toughcompetition for the dancers and a super-tough show for me to watch. Tonight the winnerwas crownedon Superstars of Dance. Gold Silver and Bronze medals were given out in three categories; solos, duets and groups and one country was crowned the International Superstars of Dance!
Tonight on Superstars of Dance, the semi-finals have begun and if each performer doesn’t place in the top three tonightthey will be eliminated. Who gave all they could for their country tonight and who was going home?
Tonight on Superstars of Dance, the dancers had entered the semi-finals of the show! The teams had to kick it up a notch to stay in the game and unfortunately, Australia loses their soloist! The show was actually easier to watch this week, but I cannot believe a show of this calibre has such poor staging! Honestly, I have been to better year end dance recitals that have better lighting and more creative sets that are made by students and their families.
Tonight on Superstars of Dance two groups, two duets and eight soloists were cut from the competition before the semi-finals in what was supposed to be the greatest dance challenge of all time. Tonight was especially exciting because it marked the end of the semi-final round and it meant one step closer to this crappy show being over!
Tonight eight countries came together to show off their dancing talents and 100 world class dancers, representing 6 continents performed solos, duets and group routines hoping to help their country stay in the runningto win the International Superstars of Dance trophy and be named the best dancers in the world.
Tonight is the night! Superstars of Dance begins on NBC at 9 PM ET and it is the newest reality TV series executively produced by none other than the So You Think You Can Dancecreators Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Fuller. Hosts Michael Flatley and Susie Castillo will introduce us to dance teams from eight countries in this two hour premiere episode. The dance genres that will be performed include the monks from Shaolin: Wheel of Life (China), Irish step dancers (Ireland), Tango dancers (Argentina), a pop/lock dancer (United States) and Bollywood dancers (India) to name a few.
Superstars of Dance co-host, Michael Flatley, says that this new dance competition show is a celebration of dance and he doesn’t think there’s a style or a country out there that couldn’t participate in it. Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, who also produces Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, agrees and he told reporters this week, “There has never been a show like this anytime, anywhere in the world, ever.”
Georgia Ambarian and Eric Luna have been selected to represent the United States in the new reality TV show, Superstars of Dance. The international dance competition is produced by Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Fuller, the masterminds behind American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.
