March 11, 2015 06:42:18 by Ryan Haidet

After two strong episodes to start the season, something was off in this one. The storytelling was definitely disjointed from showcasing a moment of monkey sex to a yo’ mama insult. It was frustrating because the only truly enjoyable element here was the stunning cinematography. Even the elimination at Tribal Council felt uneventful.

Vince Sly will go down in Survivor history as the coconut salesman with feathers in his hair who gave that one girl an awkwardly long hug. Trust me. In a few weeks, that’s all mainstream viewers will remember. But as we all know with reality television, editors hold a lot of power. They craft characters any way they want to. They highlight specific personality traits to create their “perfect” story. That’s exactly what Vince says happened during his brief time on Survivor: Worlds Apart. In our one-on-one interview with Vince, he explains why he was embarrassed by the premiere episode, how he thinks he was inaccurately portrayed and weighs in on all the social media haters who have been beating him up online with labels like “creepy,” “weird” and “jealous.” Plus, he reveals the crazy coconut story that ultimately landed him a spot on the show. Enjoy!

so-kim-voted-off-survivor-worlds-apart-cbs

So Kim, the White Collar contestant who was the first person voted off Survivor: Worlds Apart, was never actually supposed to be on this season. Initially, So was on the cast of last season — Survivor: San Juan Del Sur — with her sister for the second Blood Vs. Water. But moments before that game began, So and her sis were cut from the competition because of a health concern. So was crushed, but only for a short time because CBS wanted her for season 30. And they wanted her badly. In our one-on-one chat with So, she discussed how quickly she was asked to be on season 30, talked about her silly lie about the phony neutral beans decision and explained why she knew her torch was going to be snuffed first. Plus, she revealed why she didn’t necessarily feel like she belonged on the White Collar tribe.
