Jennifer Lopez may have taken up residence behind the judging table, but based on last night’s episode of American Idol, it’s obvious that she can still work a crowd! Of course, there are those that would argue she made it through because of votes from fans that support her for being the first openly gay contestant on the show.
Following continued criticism surrounding its treatment of gay contestants, American Idol appears to be in the midst of some significant changes. Yesterday, the talented MK Nobilette earned distinction as the very first openly gay competitor to make the reality competition’s top 30.
Yesterday’s episode of American Idol detailed all the drama of Group Night, a chaotic process through which judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. were forced to select the cream of the crop. Did any potential front runners emerge?
