Survivor: Samoa — Erik’s Big Blindside

Cocky. Arrogant. Outspoken. Those are just a few words fans of Survivor: Samoa have described the most-recent ousted player, Erik Cardona. In a conference call with reporters, Erik dished the dirt on his attitude, strategy, and the player he wants to see take home the $1 million — which he will have an actual vote in deciding as the first member of the jury.

Question: Were you surprised by the vote?

Erik Cardona: I didn’t want the focus to be an individual game. I wanted to remind people that we were still going after Foa Foa. “That is the plan, let’s stick to it.” … When I saw four votes, I was like, “Those little bastards (directed at Foa Foa).” Then that fifth one comes up and I’m like, “What?” And then six, and seven, and I think around the 28th vote that said “Erik,” I was like, “Shit, this is really going down. This sucks.”

Question: Talk about your comments at Tribal Council.

Erik: To me, Galu was the most important thing out there. I bled purple out there. … And it wasn’t personal, it was just a situation in the game I believe called for it. So I went after them (Foa Foa) like a bloodhound. I was like, “Let’s go team, get on my shoulders. I know Russell’s gone, but I will carry it.”

Question: You seemed like one of the most cocky people out there. Why?

Erik: The cockiness I had was intentional, and it was directed at one side. There was no arrogance in my own tribe. There was tons of humility. … On the flip side, I was ridiculously cocky and way over confident to the other side, because I wanted them to feel like they had absolutely no chance in this game. I wanted our tribe to see that, because the minute we lost our leader (Russell Swan), you could see the shoulders shrug.

Question: Was it a hard pill to swallow after you were voted off?

Erik: It seems like did Foa Foa win or did Galu lose? You hear that a lot in sports. Foa Foa, numbers wise, only had four votes. They should not have had the advantage or the power. … The damage occurred when my own team went against me, — when they listened to Natalie. I tip my hat to Natalie. I think so far — and maybe I’m biased — but she probably made the biggest play of the game. … A Galu member bought it and ran with it, and that’s what stings. I think my team is the one that got cocky, and I think Foa Foa got a break. Part of the reason I was being over the top with them was to reinforce that you don’t give these people a break. You just cannot give anybody a break in this game. Ever. You get an opportunity to put them out, you put ‘em out! I think my team got a little cocky, got a little arrogant.

Question: What are your thoughts on Shambo?

Erik: Shambo is wonderful, she was annoying as hell, she was crazy. … She was bossy and she would always claim to be an expert at something. She doesn’t know that she’s only an expert in her own mind. … But Shambo was not malicious. Shambo had respect for the game. Shambo worked as hard as she could regardless for who that effort was. She tried her best. Shambo was a very very very positive force and someone that deserves to be there.

Question: Tell us more about the blindside. Were you confident in your tribe?

Erik: I think if you don’t play that way then you lose motivation on a day-to-day basis to actually continue to get up in the morning and to work hard and try to make yourself valuable to the tribe. If you don’t believe in these people and you don’t trust them or you don’t have some sort of confidence that somebody’s going to have your back, well what motivation do you have to go out at high tide and risk your life on these rocks to try and stab a crab so you can share it eight ways? I wanted to go out there, and I wanted to work hard. I wanted to survive, I wanted to rally, and you can’t do that if you don’t have the proper motivation.

Question: After the merge, what was the tribe dynamic between Foa Foa and Galu?

Erik: They (Foa Foa) had such different strategies when they came over. I knew they were cohesive, and I knew that they were tight. I figured they must have talked about these individualistic strategies, but they were so different from each other that it just really wasn’t a Galu/Foa Foa dynamic. It was Galu and Russell, and Galu/Jaison, and Galu/Mick and Galu/Natalie. That’s kind of how that went down. But I did not like them there. I did not want them there.

Question: If you could pick the winner right now who would it be?

Erik: I would pick Brett. Well, no. He snubbed me at Tribal when I walked off and that’s what let me know that he betrayed me. It was so tough because here I am, I’d been preaching, “Kick off Foa Foa, kick off Foa Foa.” I was completely against them, but then every single one of them (Galu tribemates) stabbed me in the back. So — Shambo. … If I forget the fact that Brett betrayed me, I think he’s a class act, I’d like to see him win. If I had to pick a dude from Foa Foa — or a chick — it’s between Natalie and Mick. I would say I like Mick.

Kate Gosselin’s Friend Fears She Will Never Be Happy

It is evident that Kate Gosselin isn’t happy and hasn’t been for quite some time. Of course, going through a highly publicized divorce while your daily life is played out on national TV doesn’t help. Unfortunately, one of Kate’s longtime friends, Jamie Ayers, has revealed that she doesn’t think Kate will ever be happy again.

Kate finally opened up during last week’s emotional TLC special - Kate: Her Story. She admitted that she is constantly haunted by wondering if she’s making the right decisions for her life and her kids. Jamie Ayers, a friend of Kate’s, spoke to Life & Style about her predicament and her continual quest for happiness.

“She said to me, ‘I don’t think I’ll ever find someone who can put up with me and my eight kids,’” Jamie told Life & Style. “She’s a very strong person — maybe one of the strongest people I’ve ever me. She’s very in charge.” No, really? We never could have deduced that from watching Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Jamie continued, “It’s hard to trust people in the position she’s in. I don’t know how she’ll find somebody.” But, of course, you can’t ever lose hope. “Kate is fun, sweet, organized and loving. There will be someone out there for her — someday.”

Kourtney Kardashian: “I Love Being Pregnant”

Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, Kourtney Kardashian, recently took part in an exclusive interview with Life & Style where she talked about her pregnancy. Kourtney discussed her excitement, her fears, and how she is dealing with all those pregnancy pounds. Keep reading for full details..

“It wasn’t something I expected or planned,” Kourtney admitted. “It was just meant to be.” She goes on to say that her pregnancy has been smooth sailing so far. “My pregnancy has been wonderful,” she gushed. “I love being pregnant. I’m excited to be a mom — but I’m nervous.” There is also a possibility that viewers might be getting a sneak peek of her delivery room on the show as well.

So how about all that weight gain? “I’m totally excited to gain weight, and I’m embracing it,” she continued. “I run around naked all day at home! I like that my body is changing. It’s a beautiful thing.”

As far as her rocky relationship with baby-daddy Scott, she said, “Scott and I have been going to different parenting classes. They made me nervous at first, putting all kinds of information into my head, but they’re helpful. They’re a fun thing for Scott and me to do together.”

Supernanny: Phelps Family

Tonight on Supernanny on ABC Jo Frost travels to Alabama to help the Phelps family tame their 3 out of control sons. Mom says she has 4 boys as Dad does not help her discipline them. Dad, however is tired of Mom’s constant spanking as discipline and would prefer a gentler method. Will Jo be able to help this family before it’s too late and turn these boys around?

Amy and Jimmy Phelps reside in a quaint Alabama town with their 3 rambunctious boys; Jacob age 9, Brody age 5, and Aiden age 2 1/2.
Amy called Supernanny in a desperate plea for help. As the observation began, Jo is stunned by the lack of safety as Aiden falls down the stairs. Next, she notices a bedroom, with the bed covered in laundry which she later finds out is where 2 year old Aiden should be sleeping. Aiden, however is still co sleeping with mom and dad. Amy admits that Aiden is her “comfort blanket” and she is not ready to put him in his own bed.

Next, Supernanny notices lunch filled with chocolate and sugar loaded drinks. When she confronts Amy about it, she reluctantly admits that she is just too lazy to cook meals. But what has gotten Jo the most frustrated is the spanking. Amy using spanking as her only form of discipline. When Jimmy arrives home from work Jo fills him in on what she has observed so far and he agrees that the spanking needs to end. He admits that he would love a more positive, less painful form of discipline.

As Jo Frost sits down with the parents for their meeting, she immediately notices how angry Amy becomes when called out on her spanking. Jo explains that Amy needs to stop spanking and she goes over her time out rules. Both parents admit that the disagreeing on discipline is tearing their relationship apart and Amy promises to try and stop spanking. Jo then explains that they must put Aiden to sleep in his own bed to create a healthy sleep habit. She lets Amy know compassionately that she understands why she is doing it, but for the sake of her son she needs to stop.

Supernanny then has a surprise for the boys as she lets them decide what to have to eat for dinner from a menu she made and hands them special chef hats and aprons. The boys are overjoyed to be able to not only choose a healthy meal, but to help prepare it. Later, she has Amy put Aiden to bed in his own bed with strict rules to let him cry and keep putting him back in there. Amy pushes through it even though you can see it was tearing her apart. It did pay off as after about an hour and many tears, Aiden was fast asleep in his own bed for the first time ever!

After Jo Frost of Supernanny on ABC goes over her time out method a few more times, she heads off for a few days to see how Amy & Jimmy will fair on their own. Surprisingly, she comes back to find they were not following the rules properly and Amy has resorted back to spanking. At this point, she knew she had to get serious with Amy. Jimmy, Amy and Supernanny sat down and had a good talk, followed by some tears in which both parents realized how serious this was and how it was affecting their marriage. Both Amy and Jimmy agree to continue with the time outs vs. spanking.

By the time she left, Jo Frost had made a huge impact on this family as Amy was using time out and was not losing her cool with her sons. Instead Amy and Jimmy were giving them compliments and making chores a little more fun for the kids. Once again, Supernanny saves the day!

Dancing With The Stars: Sherri Shepherd To Join Cast?

Sherri Shepherd makes us all laugh as a co-host on The View, but will she be dancing her way into our living rooms anytime soon? The single mother, who just published an autobiography, spoke to CelebrityBabyScoop.com about how much she’d like to do the show. Keep reading for more details…

When asked if she would consider doing Dancing With The Stars, Sherri told CelebrityBabyScoop.com, “That is a show I’ve wanted to do since it came on the air because I love to dance, but everybody who has been on the show with children has said to me, ‘Sherri, you won’t see your child.”’

“I have to say no to a lot of things,” she continued. She goes on to admit that she has declined doing the show every single season it has been on the air.

“Elisabeth told me something that I keep close,” she said of her fellow co-host. “She said, ‘You know, Sherri, you have a lot of spinning plates. Just make sure your child is not one of them.’ So in everything I do, my first priority is my son.” Speaking of her son, she also talked about some recent challenges she’s facing in raising him. “He’s a boy, and I’m trying to figure it out,” she said of potty training. “Like, how the heck am I going to get you to just push your butt in a little bit more to pee in the toilet so it’s not dripping everywhere?!”

Dancing With The Stars returns again next Monday night at 8 PM ET as the dancers try for a place in the semi-finals with two new dances each.

Kim Kardashian And Reggie Bush Are Determined To Make It Work

Well, the breakup came as quite a shocker. Good thing it only lasted about a week. Kim Kardashian and NFL player, Reggie Bush, are back together and stronger than ever! They recently spoke to People.com about why they are certain that things will work this time around…

“We just made the decision that we want to make it work, and the time off was really beneficial for the both of us,” Kardashian told PEOPLE at her 29th birthday bash at Tao Las Vegas. Both Kim and Reggie’s busy schedules were cited as one of the main factors in the couple’s split. Although they made a new pact to put each other as priorities - Reggie couldn’t make it to Kim’s party. I guess he came up with some lame excuse. Something about football.

“I think sometimes people need to take a break just to take time off to see how much they need each other and how much they really are compatible,” Kardashian said. “It’s just about making a commitment. With our schedules it was really tough.”

But just because Reggie couldn’t make it to Kim’s party, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t thinking about her. “He calls my sisters and my mom and figures out the best gift to get me,” she said. “They all are keeping it very quiet this year. He said he wants it to be special, so we’ll see what it is.”
